Cotton Futures Surge as Market Heads into Weekend

Cotton futures are on the rise as the market heads into the weekend. Contracts for most months are up, ranging from 96 to 133 points higher. The US dollar index is lower by $0.335, while crude oil prices have increased by 66 cents per barrel.

The latest export sales data shows that 2025/26 accumulated export business has reached 11.977 million RB, which is 107% of the USDA export projection. This surpasses last year's numbers, with new crop business at 4.026 million RB, a 25% increase compared to the same period.

The Adjusted World Price has been raised by 190 points to 68.19 cents/lb on Thursday. The Cotlook A Index remained steady at 94.95 cents on August 13.
