Croatia-Hungary Gas Interconnection Capacity Set to Double

The gas transmission system operators of Croatia and Hungary have signed a joint statement to increase the capacity of the Drávaszerdahely/Donji Miholjac interconnection point for the transit of gas from Croatia to Hungary.

The upgrade will enable larger quantities of natural gas from the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal on the Croatian island of Krk to be transmitted between the two countries, enhancing the security of supply and resilience of energy systems in the region.

According to Plinacro, upon the completion of the Bosiljevo-Sisak and Kozarac-Sisak gas pipelines, the capacity of the interconnection point will be doubled from 200,000 Sm3/h to 400,000 Sm3/h starting from December 31, 2026.
