Power Burn Limits Natural Gas Decline Amid LNG Struggles

Natural gas futures declined modestly on Tuesday after a previous day's rally, but strong power burn and cooling degree days limited losses.

The September New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) futures contract dropped 4.1 cents to $2.753/MMBtu at 11:51 a.m. ET.

This decline follows the previous day's 13-cent increase, but the two-week forecast shows stout cooling degree days that helped offset struggles in liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports.
