Crop Prices Swing on September 25 Amid Fluctuating Futures
Closing markets on September 25 saw fluctuations in various asset prices. On the Chicago Board of Trade, corn futures for December rose by 1.25 to $5.28.50 and March futures increased by 0.50 to $5.42.25. Soybean futures also gained ground, with November up 2.50 at $13.20 and January rising by 1.00 to $13.33. In contrast, wheat futures declined, with December down 3.00 at $7.04 and March falling by 2.50 to $7.18.50.
Prices for the 2026 crop were reported by The Andersons at Blacks Lane, showing corn up 0.50 at $6.73/BU, soybeans increasing by 1.50 to $17.44/BU, and soft white winter wheat down 3.50 at $8.33/BU. For the 2027 crop, corn rose by 0.50 to $6.43/BU, while soybeans decreased by 2.25 to $16.47/BU. Soft white winter wheat and red winter wheat for both years fell by 3.50 to $8.76/BU.
Snobelen Farms reported similar prices for the 2026 crop: corn up 0.50 at $6.68/BU, soybeans increasing by 1.50 to $17.44/BU, and soft white winter wheat down 3.50 at $8.28/BU. For the 2027 crop, corn rose by 0.50 to $6.48/BU, while soybeans decreased by 2.25 to $16.32/BU.
The U-S CME price for Ontario Pork was reported as $81.92 per hundredweight, dressed weight, a decrease of $0.55 from the previous day. The 100% formula price also fell, down $0.84 to $209.49 per hundred kilograms, dressed weight.
