Crude Oil Price Surge Drags US Stocks Lower

The major US stock averages have been moving lower throughout Tuesday's trading session, following last Friday's losses. The Dow Jones Industrial Average has shown a particularly steep drop, with a decline of 568.96 points or 1.1 percent at 52,845.29.

The Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 indices are also in negative territory, down 67.42 points or 0.3 percent at 26,439.57 and 26.18 points or 0.3 percent at 7,692.42, respectively.

Despite being off their lows for the session, all three major averages remain in decline.
