Crude Oil Prices Fall Amid US-Iran Negotiations and Middle East Tensions
Crude oil prices declined on September 25 as market participants weighed potential US-Iran negotiations against renewed concerns over Middle East security risks.
Brent crude futures fell 0.9% to around $105 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures dropped 1.60% to approximately $93 a barrel.
A major factor influencing crude prices is the possibility of a phased arrangement between the United States and Iran, which could involve Tehran reopening the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for Washington easing its economic blockade of Iran.
