Crude Oil Prices Plunge, Fueling Indian Market Surge
Indian stock markets surged in early trade on Monday due to a sharp drop in crude oil prices, easing geopolitical tensions, and foreign fund inflows. The benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty climbed significantly during initial deals.
The 30-share BSE Sensex jumped by 470.06 points to reach 78,564.70, while the 50-share NSE Nifty rose by 150 points to 24,532.95. Several stocks from the Sensex pack saw significant gains, including ITC, Bajaj Finserv, InterGlobe Aviation, and Tata Consultancy Services.
The decline in crude oil prices was a major contributor to the market's optimism, with Brent crude trading 4.97% lower at $83.56 per barrel. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) also bought equities worth Rs 277.48 crore on Friday.
