New Delhi: Crude oil prices took a hit in futures trade on Wednesday due to weak global cues. The price of crude oil for October delivery fell by Rs 168, or 1.73 per cent, to Rs 9,571 per barrel on the Multi Commodity Exchange. Analysts attributed the decline to participants offloading their holdings amid weak demand in the spot market.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was trading 1.11 per cent lower at USD 104.65 per barrel, while Brent crude declined 0.73 per cent to USD 107.96 per barrel in New York. The weak global trend affected the domestic market, leading to a decline in crude oil prices.
