Crude Oil Prices Surge Past $100 as Gas Prices Jump Nationally
Gas prices have jumped significantly over the past week in Pennsylvania and nationwide. According to AAA East Central, the average price for a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania is now $4.499, a 19-cent increase from last week.
In the Lehigh Valley, the average price for a gallon of gas has risen to $4.401 as of September 14, up from $4.251 the previous week and significantly higher than the $3.211 recorded one year ago.
Nationally, the average price for regular gasoline has increased by 16 cents over the past week to $4.31, with crude oil prices pushing back into the $100 per barrel range for the first time since July.
