Crude Oil Surge Drives Gas Prices Up 30 Cents
Gas prices have surged by 30 cents across AAA East Central's Northern West Virginia region to $4.147 per gallon, as crude oil prices continue to rise.
The national average has increased to $4.31, up 16 cents from last week, with the current prices comparable to those seen in early June.
The increase comes during a time when gasoline prices typically decline as demand falls, but volatility in the Strait of Hormuz has pushed crude oil back into the $100-per-barrel range for the first time since July.
