Crude Oil Volatility Drives Gas Prices to Spring Highs Again
The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline has increased by 16 cents from last week and now stands at $4.43, according to AAA. This is more than one dollar higher than it was a year ago.
Crude oil prices remain high, averaging $100 per barrel due to ongoing volatility in the Strait of Hormuz.
The current national average for gasoline is back to levels seen earlier this year during the spring and is approaching this year's record high of $4.56 set on May 21.
As of Thursday, the national average was $4.4386, while one week ago it was $4.2770 and one month ago it was $4.0636.
