Crude oil prices surged today after President Trump rejected Iran's latest proposal to end the war, casting doubts on an imminent breakthrough in talks.

The rejection led to a sharp increase in crude oil and gasoline prices, with November WTI crude oil up +2.85 (+3.07%) and November RBOB gasoline up +0.0256 (+0.80%).

US negotiators are reportedly pressing Iran to make concessions on its nuclear program, which has been a top priority for President Trump.

The Iranian government has stated that it will not soften its demands to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, adding to tensions in the region.
