Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum Deny Breaching Contract with KRG
Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum have denied breaching their contract with Iraq's Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) over natural gas supplies from the Khor Mor field.
The two companies stated that they had informed the KRG of their agreement to supply 100 million standard cubic feet per day of natural gas to Iraq's Ministry of Electricity in January, and that this did not require additional authorization or approval.
The KRG had claimed that Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum had started supplying gas without its approval, but the companies maintained that they were acting within their contractual obligations.
They also pointed out that the KRG has been in arrears for over three years on gas supply payments, and that the new supplies to Kirkuk are from excess capacity.
