Dana Gas Delivers First Batch of Natural Gas to Iraq's Kirkuk Taza Power Station

Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum have begun supplying natural gas to Iraq's Kirkuk Taza power station, marking an important milestone for the companies in their development of the gas sector in the Kurdistan region. The first deliveries total 100 million standard cubic feet per day from the Khor Mor field in the Kurdistan region.

The supply agreement is a one-year deal with the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity's Kirkuk Taza power station, and it comes after repeated attacks on energy infrastructure in Iraq's Kurdistan region during the US-Iran conflict. The KM250 expansion last October increased production capacity by 50 percent to 750 million standard cubic feet per day.

Dana Gas chief executive Richard Hall said the additional capacity from the KM250 expansion 'lays the foundation for more co-operation on energy within Iraq's growing market, to strengthen energy security while supporting more reliable electricity services.'
