Dangote Warns of Potential Petrol Scarcity Amid Middle East Crisis
Nigeria's President of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, has warned that the ongoing crisis in the Middle East could lead to petrol scarcity in Nigeria. The crisis is not about price but availability, he said.
Dangote assured Nigerians that his refinery would continue supplying the domestic market and there would be no shortage or queues from his company's operations. He explained that the current situation is not just about how much petrol costs but whether enough of the product will be available.
The Middle East crisis has pushed international energy prices higher, with Brent crude recently moving above $100 per barrel. The International Energy Agency has also warned that prolonged disruptions to Gulf oil flows could deepen a global oil supply shortfall.
