DAX 40 Soars to New Heights as Oil Prices Plummet
The DAX 40 index hit a record high of 25,910 points in its first trading session of August, rising more than 1% from the previous day.
The surge was driven by falling oil prices, which eased concerns over inflation and higher interest rates. Crude prices dropped after US President Donald Trump announced that negotiations with Iran would begin on Monday, although he did not set a deadline for a deal.
Markets were also supported by generally positive corporate earnings and the ongoing recovery of AI-related stocks. Stabilus saw its share price increase over 1% following the release of detailed quarterly results, while E.ON rose 1.5% after Jefferies upgraded the stock to 'Buy' from 'Hold' with a new price target of €22.70.
