DDG Prices Rise Amid Increased Ethanol Production

The value of DDG relative to corn for the week ended July 23 was 0.890%, while its value relative to soybean meal was 46.70%. The cost per unit of protein for DDG compared to soybean meal was $5.74 versus $6.99, respectively.

The U.S. Grains and Bioproducts Council reported that CIF NOLA barge price for DDGS was up $6 at $225 metric ton (mt) as of July 23, while FOB vessel Gulf price was up $3 at $242 mt. Rail-delivered prices in the Pacific Northwest were up $29 at $275 mt and in California up $16 at $248 mt.

The Energy Information Administration reported that overall ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.094 million barrels per day (bpd) for the week ended July 17, a 54,000 bpd increase from the previous week and 16,000 bpd higher than the same week last year.
