December 2026 corn futures have fallen below their 200-day moving average and are currently trading at 464.0, according to Stephen Davis, senior market strategist at Walsh Trading.

The decline comes after several agricultural reports were released by the government this month, with another report due on August 12 from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

According to the USDA's Crop Progress report, corn rated 'good or excellent' declined by 2% to 61%, while corn rated 'poor or very poor' increased by 2% week-over-week to 14%.

In terms of weather conditions, a cold front is currently crossing the upper Midwest, generating showers and thunderstorms, but warm and dry weather is promoting corn and soybean development in advance of the cold front.
