Delhi CNG Price Hits Record High After ₹3.89/kg Hike
The price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Delhi-NCR has increased by ₹3.89 per kg, making it ₹86.98 per kg from Saturday onwards. This is the fifth increase this year and will affect commuters and commercial vehicle operators.
According to Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), the price hike is due to a sharp increase in the cost of imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) and elevated international gas prices. The company also cited sustained growth in domestic CNG consumption as a contributing factor.
The latest revision will put additional pressure on households and businesses that rely heavily on gas-powered vehicles, especially auto-rickshaw drivers, taxi operators, bus fleets, and commercial goods carriers. They may seek adjustments in passenger fares or freight charges if elevated fuel costs persist.
