The price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Delhi has been increased by Rs.3.89 per kg, effective from August 29 at 6:00 am.

This means that CNG will now cost Rs.86.98 per kg, up from the previous rate of Rs.83.09 per kg, according to a press release by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL).

The increase is due to the rising international LNG prices, which have nearly doubled in recent months due to disruptions in cargo movements through the Strait of Hormuz and increased European demand ahead of the winter season.

Despite this, IGL notes that Delhi has one of the lowest CNG retail prices in the world, and that efforts are being made to optimize sourcing costs and keep CNG an economical, clean, and dependable fuel choice for auto-rickshaws, taxis, private vehicles, and public transport fleets.
