Delhi Gold Prices Drop on Weak Demand and Strong Dollar

Gold prices in Delhi dropped by Rs 200 per 10 grams on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, reaching Rs 1,49,600. The decline was driven by weak retail demand during the Pitru Paksha period, a time when consumers typically avoid purchasing auspicious items like gold and jewelry. The strong US dollar also contributed to the downward pressure on gold prices.

Meanwhile, silver prices remained stable for the second consecutive session, holding at Rs 2.27 lakh per kilogram. Analysts attributed the steadiness in silver to the lack of significant market-moving factors.

Experts predict that gold will likely remain range-bound with a slight bearish tilt in the near term. Factors such as oil prices and the strength of the US dollar are expected to continue influencing gold's performance. On global markets, spot gold saw a marginal increase to USD 4,149.44 per ounce, while silver traded flat at USD 61.01 per ounce.
