Denmark Ukrainians Protest Local Firm's Russian LNG Tanker Maintenance
Ukrainians in Denmark have held a protest against Fayard A/S, a local company that services Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers. The Association of Ukrainians in Denmark organized the demonstration in central Copenhagen, citing concerns over the role of Fayard's shipyard in supporting Russia's gas exports and war financing.
The protesters specifically targeted the Arc7-class vessels serviced by Fayard, including the tanker Boris Davydov, which was recently maintained at the company's shipyard. According to estimates, the tanker transported 50 shipments of Russian LNG worth approximately €1.9 billion after its previous maintenance in 2023.
The Association claims that profits from these gas exports help fund Russia's war against Ukraine, and they have criticized Fayard's owner, Thomas Andersen, for refusing to stop servicing the tankers.
