Diesel Prices Hit Record High in Texas as Gas Continues to Climb

Gas prices in Texas continue to rise, but diesel drivers are feeling the pinch more than ever. The average price of diesel in Texas is now $5.93 per gallon, a record high set last week on September 19 at $5.97 per gallon.

According to Patrick De Haan with GasBuddy, oil prices are at $95 per barrel, which translates to about $2.26 per gallon. However, diesel prices are driven by the cost of converting oil into diesel fuel, which is currently high due to supply chain issues.

The price gap between regular gas and diesel is significant, with diesel costing around $4 more per gallon than regular gas. This means that truckers and other diesel drivers are facing higher costs for fuel, which will likely be passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices for goods and services.
