Digital Financing Taskforce Expands Gold Investing Research for Individual Investors
Digital Financing Taskforce has announced plans to expand its gold investing research, offering new guides for individual investors. The Taskforce will cover physical gold, gold ETFs, mining stocks, gold IRA companies, and bullion dealers. These guides, available on their website, will discuss costs, storage, custodians, and taxes in straightforward language.
The expansion includes five research tracks: three focused on gold assets (coins and bars, ETFs, and mining stocks) and two on where to buy and hold them (gold IRA companies and bullion dealers). Each track will compare fees, storage needs, and ease of selling.
The move follows record gold demand in 2024, with total demand reaching 4,974 tonnes, valued at about $382 billion. Central banks bought 1,045 tonnes that year, marking the third consecutive year of over 1,000 tonnes in purchases. The price of gold rose roughly 27% in 2024, according to the World Gold Council.
The guides will cover various gold products, including government-minted coins like the American Gold Eagle, Canadian Gold Maple Leaf, and South African Krugerrand, as well as bars from PAMP Suisse and the Perth Mint. For those preferring not to store physical gold, ETFs like SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) and iShares Gold Trust (IAU) will be discussed, with expense ratios of 0.40% and 0.25%, respectively. The guides will also analyze mining stocks, gold IRA companies, and bullion dealers, providing comparisons on fees, storage, and purchase costs.
