Dollar Weakens as Copper Prices Rise Amid Fed Interest Rate Hike Expectations
The US dollar weakened slightly to 100.36 on September 22 as investors await further interest rate hikes from the Federal Reserve.
Copper prices rose by 1.46% in Shanghai, while aluminum fell 0.14%, and lead edged up 0.18%. Zinc prices dropped 0.09%, but tin and nickel both gained 0.83% and 0.7%, respectively.
Lithium carbonate and polysilicon futures rose by over 2%, and coking coal contract increased 1.22% in the domestic market.
