DongSung Finetec Unveils Low-Carbon LNG Carrier Insulation Material HFO R-PUF
DongSung Finetec has unveiled its new low-carbon LNG carrier insulation material, HFO R-PUF, at Gastech 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.
HFO R-PUF replaces conventional HFC-based blowing agents with HFO-based agents that have a lower global warming potential while strengthening cryogenic insulation performance.
A carbon footprint verification by DNV found that greenhouse gas emissions fell 33% from the previous product, with thermal conductivity during cryogenic operation improving by up to 6%.
DongSung Finetec plans to apply the product to vessels under construction next year and expand talks on adoption for global LNG carrier projects.
The company aims to continue expanding its portfolio of environmentally friendly products, including insulation materials for LNG carriers, centered on its brand philosophy 'ECOTECO.'
