Summit Midstream has sanctioned a major expansion of its Double E Pipeline in the Permian Basin, targeting a startup date in 4Q2028. The roughly 900 MMcf/d upgrade will move more natural gas from the Delaware sub-basin toward the Waha Hub. This increase is possible thanks to new long-term commitments from shippers, which have secured 550 MMcf/d of capacity on the pipeline.

The expansion aims to meet growing demand for natural gas in the region, particularly from data centers and other industrial users. With this upgrade, Summit Midstream continues its efforts to expand infrastructure in the Permian Basin, a key producing area for US oil and gas.
