Drilling Rigs Active in Kindersley as New Wells Are Licensed

Clarence Rye, an experienced oilman from west-central Saskatchewan, provides insights into the local drilling numbers through data from the Government of Saskatchewan. The current oil statistics can be accessed via the government's oil production dashboard, and a list of archived drilling results is available on their website.

In the week ending Friday, September 18, Rye reported that five drilling rigs were active in the Kindersley area. These rigs were operated by Tyne Energy, Whitecap Resources, Saturn Oil and Gas, and Strathcona Resources.

Rye also noted that 18 new wells were licensed in the Kindersley area during the same week. Tyne Energy led the way with eight new licences, including four in the Snipe Lake area, three in the Kindersley area, and one in the Oakdale area. Ish Energy received four new licences, all in the Kindersley area, while Northern Hawk Energy received four, all in the Oakdale area.

Year to date, Rye reported 44 verticals, 13 directionals, and 307 horizontal well applications.
