Drone Strike Sparks Fire at Egyptian Energy Hub

The fire affected the Energos Winter, a U.S.-owned floating storage and regasification unit, and the GasLog Salem, an LNG carrier operated by a Monaco-based shipping company. The blaze was contained without casualties, but operations at the terminal were temporarily disrupted.

Reports suggest that a drone may have triggered the fire, striking the Energos Winter and causing it to spread to the adjacent GasLog Salem. Egyptian authorities have acknowledged that a drone attack was the cause of the blaze, but investigations are ongoing and no group has been officially identified as responsible.
