Gold prices rose in Dubai ahead of the US Federal Reserve's interest rate decision on Wednesday morning.

The price of spot gold was up nearly 0.7% at $4,321 per ounce, while silver jumped almost 2% to $64.56 an ounce.

Traders are pricing in a high chance of a 25-basis-point hike, with a 92.4% probability according to the CME FedWatch.

Market analyst Frank Walbaum noted that a hawkish Fed could pull gold down, while soft messaging may ease bets on hikes and help the metal recover.
