Dunleavy's LNG Pipeline Tax Plan Shut Down by Alaska Lawmakers

Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy's proposal for a liquefied natural gas pipeline has hit a roadblock. The compromise bill, HB 4001, aimed to develop the $54.5 billion Alaska LNG project. It includes a gas treatment facility on Alaska's North Slope, an 807-mile pipeline, and a natural gas export facility in Nikiski.

The proposal was the sole focus of three special sessions in the state legislature. However, majority caucuses in both the House and Senate announced they didn't have the votes to pass the package. This marks the end of Dunleavy's latest tax strategy for the project.
