Dutch Central Bank Shifts Gold Reserves to London Amid Crisis Readiness
The Dutch central bank, De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), has moved part of its gold reserves to London as a precautionary measure. This decision is aimed at ensuring that the bank's gold can be quickly accessed in case of an economic crisis.
86 tonnes of gold were relocated from North America to the Bank of England's vaults, representing a significant portion of the Netherlands' total gold reserves of 612.4 tonnes.
The move reflects a strategic shift towards centralizing gold reserves in locations where they can be readily mobilized during a crisis.
