Ecuador Seeks LNG Imports Amid Energy Security Concerns
Ecuador's state oil and gas company Petroecuador is seeking interest in an LNG import project as the nation's government looks to shore up energy security. The plan comes after a drought has raised power demand, highlighting the need for reliable energy sources.
The proposed project aims to supply 60-100 MMcf/d of gas to meet growing demand. Colombia, on the other hand, is planning a larger LNG terminal that will have an initial capacity of 150 MMcf/d.
