ED Arrests Co-Conspirator in TTD Ghee Adulteration Case
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Kailash Chand Mangla, a co-conspirator in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) ghee adulteration case. Mangla is accused of facilitating the procurement of adulterants and manufacturing adulterated ghee at his factory premises.
The ED investigation revealed that adulterated ghee was manufactured using refined palm oil, palmolein, and various chemicals. The alleged fraudulent supplies of ghee to TTD during 2019-2024 were valued at ₹230 crore, with ₹96 crore of adulterated ghee manufactured by Mangla.
Mangla is a promoter of Sukriti Foods Pvt Ltd and allegedly coordinated the supply of adulterated ghee through various front entities. He also created and maintained false records relating to the sale and purchase of ghee and refined palm oil.
