Egypt Meets Record Summer Gas Demand with Regasification Ships and Local Output

The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources successfully met the country's peak natural gas demand during the recent summer period, according to Minister Karim Badawi. The ministry implemented a proactive summer plan that included maximizing local production, securing additional supplies via regasification ships, and coordinating with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy.

The plan helped ensure stable fuel supplies across all sectors, particularly for the electricity sector which witnessed maximum consumption rates during this period. Badawi stated that the natural gas system's success in absorbing record loads reflects the efficiency of the infrastructure, flexibility of the operating system, and effectiveness of the summer plan.

The minister visited the National Natural Gas Network Control Center (NATA) at the headquarters of the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO), where he reviewed network operation indicators and fuel supply statuses. Badawi praised the EGAS and GASCO work teams for their round-the-clock efforts to maintain the stability of the national natural gas network.
