Egypt Prioritizes Energy Security Amid Summer Demand Period

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly emphasized the importance of energy security in Egypt during a meeting with Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi. The government's top priority is securing Egypt's energy needs, which includes ensuring the sustainable supply of petroleum products and natural gas to all sectors.

Madbouly stressed the need for continued coordination among relevant authorities and implementing plans to increase domestic production and accelerate the development of new discoveries to strengthen energy security and maximize the use of Egypt's natural resources. The country aims to reinforce its position as a regional energy trading hub.

Badawi outlined measures taken by the ministry to guarantee fuel availability, operational alternatives, and contingency scenarios in case of changing conditions. He also reviewed the outcome of his recent meetings with regional and international partners, noting progress in implementing gas field development projects in cooperation with major international energy companies.
