Egypt Secures Wheat Supplies Amid Global Market Fluctuations
The Egyptian government is taking proactive measures to secure its wheat requirements and maintain market stability. Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, announced that the Ministry will diversify import sources across several countries to ensure supply resilience against global market fluctuations.
A meeting was held with the General Division of Bakeries and the Chamber of Grain Industry to review developments in milling, flour production, and distribution systems. Discussions also covered the subsidized bread system, commercial bread, and fino rolls market conditions, as well as mechanisms for managing current market developments.
The Ministry is intensifying monitoring campaigns across markets, mills, and bakeries to track flour trading and ensure compliance with established controls. Legal action will be taken against detected violations to maintain market stability and protect consumers' rights.
