Egypt Shifts Wheat Imports from Black Sea Region to European Suppliers

Egypt is diversifying its wheat imports amid disruptions to shipments from Ukraine and Russia. Supply Minister Sherif Farouk said Egypt is expanding cooperation with European suppliers, particularly France, Bulgaria, and Romania.

A 50,000-ton cargo of French wheat has already been shipped to Egypt, with further shipments expected to continue. The country's strategic wheat reserves currently hold enough for over six months of consumption, giving it flexibility in making purchases.
