Egypt's Food Exports Soar by 68% in Just Five Years
Egypt's food industry exports have reached new heights, growing by 68.3% since 2021 and contributing around 14 percent of total non-oil commodity exports in 2025.
According to a report from the Egyptian IDSC, the sector is now in third place in terms of export value, behind construction materials and chemical products and fertilizers.
The food industry has seen significant growth over the past year, with exports reaching $5.13 billion during the first eight months of 2026, up 10.8 percent from 2025's total of $4.63 billion.
The IDSC report highlights the importance of sustainable production models and supply chains in supporting food security and economic growth.
