EIA's Bullish Storage Result Sends Natural Gas Futures Higher
The US Energy Information Administration's (EIA) weekly storage report revealed an injection of 44 Bcf natural gas into storage for the week ended September 11.
This result was considered bullish, both in relation to expectations and historical norms. In response, higher natural gas futures held steadily in positive territory throughout midmorning trading on Thursday.
The EIA's report also highlighted regional variations, with the Midwest and East leading the way by storage region. Storage levels were 3.7% above their six-year mean.
