Enbridge Completes Houston Oil Terminal, Connecting Alberta to U.S. Gulf Coast Refining Network
Enbridge, a leading energy infrastructure company, has completed its Houston Oil Terminal (EHOT) in July, marking a significant milestone in connecting Alberta's oil sands to the U.S. Gulf Coast refining and export network. The new terminal provides Canadian oil producers with direct access to the Houston region, home to North America's largest concentration of refining and export infrastructure.
Enbridge's EHOT is the final link in its fully integrated transportation network, stretching from Edmonton, Alberta, to the U.S. Gulf Coast. According to Matt Gagnon, Enbridge's director of business development, 'EHOT gives Enbridge's liquids pipelines business a true Houston footprint.'
The terminal's opening reflects a broader trend: North America is entering a new infrastructure growth phase, driven by stronger producer confidence and a shifting policy environment. As Enbridge CEO Greg Ebel noted, this period bears resemblance to the 2012-15 time frame, which saw significant investment in energy infrastructure.
