Enbridge Expands Permian Footprint with $600 Million Salt Creek Acquisition
Enbridge has strengthened its presence in the Permian Basin after acquiring Salt Creek Midstream's crude oil gathering business for $600 million. This deal expands Enbridge's ability to transport barrels from the Delaware Basin to export markets on the U.S. Gulf Coast, where it can be exported via the Ingleside Energy Center.
The acquisition includes full ownership of the Orla and Wink North gathering systems and a 50% interest in the Delaware Crossing system, adding approximately 500 miles of crude gathering infrastructure to Enbridge's portfolio. Together, these systems can handle 420,000 barrels per day and provide 350,000 barrels of storage capacity.
According to Colin Gruending, president of Enbridge Liquids Pipelines, 'This acquisition will extend Enbridge's footprint deeper into the Permian Basin.' The deal comes as U.S. crude exports continue to grow in importance, making infrastructure connecting the Permian with Gulf Coast terminals increasingly strategic.
