Energy Markets Trade Mixed on July 28 Amid Global Volatility
Energy markets showed mixed results on July 28, with crude oil, Brent crude, and natural gas declining, while uranium, coking coal, and heating oil posting gains. Crude oil fell by 1.96% to $80.989 per barrel, while Brent crude dropped 2.44% to $86.208 per barrel.
Natural gas also declined, slipping 1.46% to $2.7265 per MMBtu. This comes as the fuel has decreased by 14.19% since the beginning of the year and is down nearly 26% compared to a year ago.
However, several commodities managed to rise, including uranium, which added 0.29% to reach $86.30 per pound, and coking coal, which rose 0.83% to $222.83 per tonne.
The mixed trading is attributed to various factors such as global demand, supply conditions, geopolitical developments, and economic data. Investors will continue to monitor these factors to determine the next direction for energy prices.
