Energy Stocks Surge as Oil Prices Reach $100 Per Barrel
Oil prices have surged above $100 per barrel, prompting renewed attention to energy sector stocks. Among them are RPC Inc., Santos, and Expro, three companies that could benefit from higher commodity prices.
RPC provides oilfield services and equipment, including pressure pumping, cementing, coiled tubing, wireline, and rental tools. The company generates most of its revenue from the United States, with operations onshore and offshore worldwide. With a market cap of $1.28 billion, RPC is leaning into more advanced tools and cleaner, gas-powered pressure pumping fleets.
Santos, an Australian oil and gas producer, stands out due to its large share of LNG portfolio tied to long-term contracts, which can support cash flow when energy prices stay elevated. However, investors must weigh this against funding risk, a dividend not well covered by free cash flow, and earnings that recently declined 33.2%.
Expro is an energy services company that helps oil and gas producers drill new wells, manage flow from existing wells, and keep subsea and surface infrastructure running safely. The company generates most of its revenue from North and Latin America, with a market cap of $1.78 billion.
