Energy Transfer (TXSE:ET) is poised for a strong third-quarter earnings report on Tuesday, November 3, following a robust second quarter. The company's adjusted EBITDA surged 31% to nearly $5.1 billion, while distributable cash flow jumped 32% to $2.6 billion. These results prompted management to raise its full-year guidance, now projecting adjusted EBITDA between $18.8 billion and $19.1 billion. The company's unit price has already climbed nearly 27% this year, supported by expanding natural gas demand and strategic acquisitions.

Several growth catalysts are driving Energy Transfer's momentum. The company is investing in infrastructure to support domestic and international natural gas demand, including a $2.7 billion pipeline project in Texas and a $5.6 billion expansion project set to complete in 2029. Additionally, the recent $2.6 billion acquisition of Vaquero Midstream will enhance its position in the Delaware Basin. The company's 6.5% distribution yield, combined with its 20th consecutive quarterly increase, makes it an attractive option for income investors.

However, risks remain. Capital spending is expected to reach $5.6 billion to $5.9 billion this year, up from initial projections. Investors should monitor any further increases, as this could strain the company's balance sheet. Execution and volume risks, such as project delays or weaker markets, could also impact growth expectations.

If Energy Transfer continues to demonstrate strong operating growth and financial discipline, its upcoming earnings report could further boost its stock price. The company's ability to translate its expansion program into sustainable cash flow and distribution growth will be key for long-term investors.
