ENGIE plans to invest MX$2 billion (US$116 million) in expanding its natural gas distribution network across the State of Mexico between 2026 and 2030. This investment aims to strengthen energy access for industrial users, supporting manufacturing and commercial activity.

The expansion will focus on strengthening and extending distribution infrastructure across several municipalities in the state. ENGIE has operated in the State of Mexico for over 26 years, with a presence in 18 municipalities and employing more than 800 people in the state.

Natural gas is used both for electricity generation and as an input in industrial processes. Its use can result in lower emissions compared to some higher-carbon fuels, increasing its relevance as companies seek to improve energy efficiency and meet environmental targets.
