Italian energy company Eni S.p.A. has launched a discount program for households struggling with rising energy costs.

The 30% power and gas rate reduction, part of Eni's 'Eni for Italy' initiative, will be offered to customers who sign up by October 24.

The discounted prices apply to fixed-price electricity and natural gas offerings from Plenitude, Eni's retail arm, and will remain in effect for two years.

Households opting for both services could save around €200 per year, according to Eni estimates. The company has chosen not to immediately pass higher energy procurement costs to customers, instead absorbing at least part of the recent increase in its own costs.
