Norway's Equinor and Germany's Uniper have signed a 15-year natural gas supply agreement, with deliveries set to begin in January 2027. The deal involves Equinor committing to deliver up to 30 terawatt-hours (TWh) of gas annually, which is roughly 2.8 billion cubic meters, to the German market.

The contract's price will be determined by prevailing market conditions. This partnership marks a significant milestone for both companies, as it coincides with Norway's 50th anniversary of delivering natural gas to Germany.

Equinor's President and CEO, Anders Opedal, emphasized the importance of this agreement, stating that natural gas will likely remain a vital component of Europe's energy landscape. He noted that Norwegian gas has a reduced carbon footprint compared to other supply sources.
