Equinor Posts Record Q2 Earnings on Higher Prices and Production Growth

Equinor, an energy company, reported strong financial results for the second quarter of 2026. The company's adjusted operating income reached $11.48 billion, driven by higher commodity prices and a 3% increase in production.

The total equity production rose to 2,165 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day, with new fields coming on stream and existing assets performing well across multiple regions.

Equinor's net income hit $4.84 billion for the quarter, while adjusted net income was $3.22 billion, translating to adjusted earnings per share of $1.33.

The company returned capital to shareholders through a dividend of $0.39 per share and an expanded buy-back program totaling up to $3 billion for the full year.
