Equinor Targets Record LNG Supplies by Early 2030s
Equinor, a Norwegian energy producer, plans to expand its liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply portfolio in the early 2030s. The company aims to meet growing demand from Europe and Asia.
The LNG supply will increase to between 10 million and 15 million metric tons per year, with half of it coming from Equinor's Hammerfest LNG plant in Norway. This expansion is part of the company's strategy to diversify its price exposure by including cargoes priced on Brent.
Equinor has already committed to a 15-year LNG supply deal with India's Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochemicals Corp in May. The company expects its supply portfolio to double to 7 million tpy in 2030, when US supplies are fully ramped up.
